Student Life

Sport For Life

Hartford’s Sport for Life aims to untap a passion for sport in each student. Our philosophy is to develop motivation, confidence, and a love for fitness that will last the student’s lifetime.

We place an emphasis on sports that are accessible and suited to the geography of the school. We utilise the instructors at the facilities in our local area to ensure each student receives specific and expert instruction in each sport. There is no better way to learn a new skill than to be coached by a skilled professional who loves their sport. This means a diverse offering, including:

  • Tennis

  • Soccer

  • Rugby

  • Gymnastics

  • Surfing

  • Golf

  • Basketball

  • Water polo

  • Rock-climbing

  • Boxing

All are easily accessible from Hartford College

Activities and Competitions

At Hartford College we offer many different opportunities for students to expand their skills through joining groups and participating in friendly competition.

  • Chess

  • As part of Hartford’s music program, there will be many opportunities to sing. This is a great musical training ground, since choristers will become familiar with the huge range of musical styles, ranging from the early Renaissance, through the Romantic and Classical eras, until the present day. They will have the opportunity to participate in a school choir that may perform at various functions and competitions.

Behind him, a large stained glass window, a crucifix, and religious artwork are visible. There are pink floral arrangements and candles on the altar.

Mentoring

Hartford College is committed to a model of education that is more than just focused on academic excellence.

The mentoring program at Hartford College supports our students through their time at school, acting as a sounding board, a developer of critical thinking, and a positive influence in their academic and personal life.

Our mentors are typically teachers at Hartford, and will catch up with their students on a regular basis to reflect on the past, and set goals for the future. These discussions will have a dual focus: first, on academic performance, work ethic, and study attitudes, and second, on character development across all aspects of life.

Take the next steps to provide your son a life-changing education.
